Pre-School Information

We have children in the preschool from 2.8 to 5 years old. We run 2 sessions per day, a Preschool Morning session and a Junior Preschool in Afternoon.

Morning Session: ECCE Preschool

8:45 -11:45am Monday to Friday.

Afternoon Session: Junior Preschool

1pm – 4pm Monday to Friday.

Ethos

The ethos of our Preschool is that children learn through play. Learning through play takes a carefully prepared environment that invites young children to explore, examine, question, predict, test, investigate, trial, error and manipulate. Your child’s welfare and your peace of mind is most important to us. We provide a warm, loving, home from-home environment, where each child is treated with respect and will develop and learn as individuals while feeling safe and secure.

Curriculum

Our highly trained and experienced staff will work with children through a variety of activities, which encourages them physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially as they grow in independence.We aim to provide a quality service and a stimulating environment for children to develop their social, personal and educational skills and learn through a planned curriculum based on the childrens interests. We are a play based Preschool.

Children enjoy age specific activities that promote all areas of development. Their time includes active play, floor play, tactile play and includes quiet time with puzzles, storytelling and rhyme.

In Little Voyagers Childcare we adhere to the five main government policies Siolta-The Quality Framework, Aistear-The Curriculum Framework, the 2016 review of Childcare Regulations, the Equality and Diversity Charter and the DES Early Years Inspections. These developments are influenced by
international best practice and early year’s theory. They put children’s interests, voice and needs at the heart of practice. The overall intention is to create high quality Early Years Services for children.

FREE pre-school scheme

The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme provides a free year of early childhood care and education for children of pre-school age. Pre-school runs for 38 weeks (183 days) per year and can cater for 22 children per session.

Childcare outside of pre-school hours

We provide care each day for pre-school children before and after pre-school and for days when pre-school is shut or during the holiday breaks. Speak to the childcare manager for details.
